Tango Seminar
One day. One cause. Come as you are.
If you can, bring a bag of non-perishables.
Pablito & Efi · Thessaloniki
One day.
All of it.
Twice a year, in Thessaloniki, a room fills with people who donate five euros. Not for a class. Not for a show. To be together, and to vote on which Syzoi cause receives the donations.
Three workshops. A live performance. An experiential seminar. A charity vote. A tango party where no one sits and everyone dances. From ten-thirty in the morning until the music decides to stop.
The €5 donation supports Syzoi entirely. That afternoon, you hear both causes and vote. The majority decides. You have to be there to choose.
Organised by Syzoi, a registered non-profit. Pablito & Efi receive no fee. Tango is UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage since 2009.
"Tango taught us that the most generous thing you can offer another person is your full attention. We built this Seminar so that twice a year, an entire room does exactly that, and gives the money to someone who needs it."
· Pablito & EfiEight minutes.
Twelve years.
Georgi drove four hours from Sofia. His partner had never seen tango before. On the drive back she said: "I understand now why you love it." Twelve years he had tried to explain it. Pablito & Efi did it in eight minutes. This is what you are coming to experience.
Pablito & Efi · Live performance · Thessaloniki
Pablito has taught tango on four continents. Europe, North and South America, Asia. Twenty-two years, eight countries, thousands of private students. He is based in Thessaloniki. Not passing through. Here, by choice.
Efi is a classical ballet and tango dancer. She came to Pablito as a student. Five months later she was on stage with him. A body and a soul trained by ballet understands structure and feeling. Tango gave something unique to this pair. If you have seen the video, you already know why.
Together, they teach you to dance. They show you why being here is worth it.

Thessaloniki Tango Seminar · 2026
I came because a friend wouldn't stop talking about it. I don't dance. I have never danced. I left with the strange feeling that I had been waiting for this room my whole life.
Not a ticket price, because there are no tickets. It is a charitable donation to Syzoi. That afternoon, you hear both Syzoi causes and choose. Every donation supports the winning cause. You will know exactly where your donation went, because you sent it there.
The workshops, the performance, the experiential seminar: Pablito & Efi's contribution to every edition. Given so your donation can travel further.
Come as you are. No tango experience, no partner needed. All you need is the desire to experience something new.
Observers are welcome to attend free of charge. The donation is for those who wish to participate fully and cast a vote.
The Greeks had
a word for this.
Parousia. Full arrival. The ancient Greek word for what happens when something enters a space so completely that the space itself changes. And occasionally, in a room like this one, a stranger who makes you understand, for eight seconds, what it means to be here. Pablito's experiential seminar guides you through exactly this: not to explain it, but to produce it, together, in twenty minutes.

Set once.
Held forever.
The first Saturday of October. The second Saturday of May. These dates do not move. This is not a project. It is a personal promise.

Questions
we expect.
No. Most people who attend have never danced tango. The day is built around presence, shared experience, and Syzoi. The workshops are designed for complete beginners. The event is in Greek (and English if needed).
Yes, and many people do. You do not need a partner for the workshops. You will meet people in the room. That is part of the point.
A milonga is the name for a social dance gathering (a tango party). It is people dancing together in the same room. Beginners and experienced dancers, side by side. You will be guided onto the floor.
Comfortable clothes you can move in. Smart casual is the norm. No special shoes or dance clothes required. Comfort over style, though nobody here will judge either.
Greek (and English if needed). Pablito & Efi speak both fluently. If neither feels like home, you are still in the right room. The body understands.
No. It is a charitable donation to Syzoi. Donors cast a vote that afternoon on which of two causes it funds. The workshops, the performance, and the experiential seminar are Pablito & Efi's gift to the room.
The day is designed as a single journey and each part builds on the last. That said, life is life. Come as you are. You collect your ballot at the door and cast it after you hear both Syzoi causes in the afternoon, so arriving by 10:30 matters most.
One email arrives confirming your place. Nothing more until October 3. No newsletters unless you opted in.
Yes. During the tango party there is a draw for 4 private sessions with Pablito & Efi. Your raffle number is in your confirmation email. No extra step, no extra donation. Everyone who donated online and brings the food bag gets a number. When the draw happens, just open your email.
The room
is waiting.
Almost full. Only a few places left.
Spaces are limited. Donate and cast your vote on October 3. You help decide which Syzoi cause receives the donations. We hold your spot the moment your donation is confirmed.
